Why is my calendar displaying the wrong date/time?
The calendar gets its time and date from your system clock. If it's displaying the wrong date, then chances are your system clock is off. This can be easily fixed, click on the Start button and open up Control Panel:
Type "date" into the search box, then click on "Set the time and date":
A windows will appear showing the current settings, click on "Change date and time..":
Correct any mistakes, then click "OK" on both windows to apply the settings. The calendar will automatically update to use the new time and date.
Can I turn off the sounds?
Yes, open the settings and click on the "General" tab:
Where it says "Play sounds", un-tick the check box. Then click "OK" to apply the setting.
How do I print out my events?
Currently it is only possible to print events by first exporting them to a text file or exporting them to a html file. You can then open the files and print them from there.
An integrated print option is planned for the next version.
Where have the wallpaper packs gone?
The wallpaper packs are still available for the legacy version of Desktop Calendar and can be downloaded here. There was however not enough interest to support them in the latest version of the calendar.
How do I uninstall the calendar?
NOTE: There is an "Uninstall" option in the Gadgets Window when you right click on the Desktop Calendar icon. This however only stops the calendar being displayed, it doesn't delete it. Instead use the instructions below to remove the calendar.
Uninstall the calendar like any other program, click on the Start button and open up Control Panel:
Under the "Programs" section, click on "Uninstall a program":
Select "Desktop Calendar" in the list of installed programs and click "Uninstall".
You will be notified when the uninstall is complete.
On Vista how do I make the sidebar\calendar load at start up?
Under Vista the sidebar needs to be running for Desktop Calendar to be displayed. If it's not currently loading when your computer starts up, follow these steps.
Click on the Start button and type in "sidebar" (without quotes). Click on the entry named "Windows Sidebar", it should be the first item displayed:
You should now see an icon for it in the bottom left corner of your screen in the system tray:
Right click on the icon and select "Properties" from the menu:
In the window that appears, tick the box labelled "Start Sidebar when Windows starts" and click "OK":
How do I add another calendar to my desktop? (Windows 7)
The calendar is a Windows Gadget and you can add as many instances as you like. Right click on your Desktop and select "Gadgets" from the drop down:
The gadget window will appear. You can either drag the Desktop Calendar gadget onto your desktop, or double click the icon to add it:
