Popup Pad has been updated to version 1.5 with the following changes:

  • Default hotkey is now F9 as the previous one (the grave accent) wasn't available or differed between countries.
  • Past settings and pads will now be carried over from previous versions when upgrading (from this version onwards).
  • The user is now warned when they try and set the hotkey to a letter (A-Z) or number (0-9) with no modifier key.
  • Last selected settings tab is now remembered.
  • BUG FIX: Disabling the hotkey now works.

By user request, Timed Shutdown now gives the option to disable the countdown warning sound. This is the only addition to version 6.1.

There are now preset data files for the legacy versions of Desktop Calendar (0.5x and 0.4x). They contain holidays and other events of interest. Supported countries are currently America, England and Scotland.

There's a small update for Popup Pad bringing it up to version 1.4:

  • Multiple monitor support added
  • BUG FIX: Position wasn't being saved correctly

A version of Timed Shutdown for Windows 7 and Vista has been released. Version 6.0 adds the ability to specify a date so you can now schedule shutdowns over 24 hours in advance. It also brings the extra actions Standby and Lock Workstation.

Some triggers from the original (CPU usage, and lost internet connection) have not been transferred to the new version yet, but it's planned that they'll be incorporated at a later date, possibly along with some new ones.

There are now some preset data files available to download for version 7 of Desktop Calendar. They contain holidays and other events of interest. Supported countries are America, England and Scotland with more to follow.

Please note these will not work in the legacy versions of the calendar (0.4x and 0.5x) but files will be released for these versions in the future.

Desktop Calendar 0.44 (free version of the legacy calendar) has been released:

  • The hotkey CTRL+A will now select all text in the edit window
  • Minor improvements to installer\uninstaller
  • BUG FIX: Events would get truncated around 1000 characters. Now the program informs the user when they have reached the limit and stops any further input to avoid data loss

Desktop Calendar 0.54 (retail version of the legacy calendar) has been released. It adds additional methods of calculating week numbers and fixes some bugs:

  • You can now select how the first week should be defined when calculating week numbers. Different countries use different methods so now you can select "week one" as being:

    • January 1st
    • First four days
    • First full week
    • ISO 8601 standard

    (Select the method you want to use by right-clicking on the week number boxes)

  • The hotkey CTRL+A will now select all text in the edit window
  • Stopped resetting the repeat type when clicking on the text box in the edit window
  • Minor improvements to installer\uninstaller
  • BUG FIX: Fixed a height issue with the edit box

Fixed some more minor bugs and improved the CSV import bringing Desktop Calendar 7 to version 7.0.0.3 :

  • Improved CSV import method
  • BUG FIX: When editing a birthday or anniversary with an age/year, the age/year wasn't displayed until the day was re-opened
  • BUG FIX: Date parsing issue on some non-English systems

Another small bug fixing update for Desktop Calendar 7:

  • BUG FIX: Problem saving "Daily" events on non-English systems
  • BUG FIX: Truncated dates in alert window on non-English systems
  • BUG FIX: Information not loaded correctly when editing "Daily" events

A small update has been released for Desktop Calendar 7. It's mostly bug fixing, but by popular demand a 12 hour clock has also been added:

  • Added the option of toggling between a 12 and 24 hour clock
  • Removed some obsolete code
  • BUG FIX: Stopped the wizards crashing if spaces in data file name
  • BUG FIX: Corrected the spelling of "migration" in wizards
  • BUG FIX: Fixed a display problem on non-English systems

The long awaited version 7 of Desktop Calendar is out! Rewritten from the ground up and fully compatible with Windows 7 and Vista, here are just some of the new features:

  • Advanced repeating rules e.g. 2nd Tuesday of the month
  • Use event categories to associate colours and icons to your events
  • Export your events to a HTML calendar
  • Have multiple calendars open at the same time, one for work, one for home etc.
  • Have a shared calendar that all users can see and add to
  • Add exceptions to repeating events e.g. every Friday but not that one
  • Make the calendar translucent
